AQIP Online Learning - Phase II

Present were Steve Jerden-Chair, Irina Neuman-Co-Chair, Kelly Henegar, Ava Rawlings, Joyce Pryor, Sue Aman, Steve Cox, Bruce Fischer, Beth Sundermeyer, Kathy Overstreet, Ken Ingersoll, and Virginia Williams.

The AQIP Online Learning - Phase II Website was introduced. All materials for the AQIP Online Committee are at http://kconline.kaskaskia.edu/online. The retired AQIP Online Learning Action Project is linked from there with the reviewer's comments. Two of the reviewer's comments were discussed. One was the implementation of a campus-wide early alert system for students in academic trouble. An early alert system on the KC Portal (CampusNet) where faculty can post a comment to the Success Center about students who are falling behind in class. In addition, the reviewer questioned: "Has the College anticipated the continuing financial and human capital resources to fully implement this plan that will be required to provide to your students your vision of an improved and expanded on-line learning environment? In part, to meet the increased demands from e-advising online students at a distance the committee proposes a new initiative for a full-time online advising position.

 

It was determined to include all degrees and certificates: AA, AS, AAS, AGS and certificates in the new AQIP Online Learning - Phase II Action Plan. apply for the accreditation of

 

The Fall 2010 Online Student Satisfaction survey was presented by Steve Jerden. It is the same survey tool used in the past two years to gage student satisfation with their online experience at KC. There are 2178 students in the survey chosen from the list of OL, OP, and HY Fall 2010 classes.
