Find out whether you are ready to take online courses by completing the READI assessment. The READI assessment examines your strengths and weaknesses related to distance learning in the four critical areas of:

  1. Individual attributes – procrastination, time management, willingness to ask for help, academic attributes
  2. Learning styles – what is your predominant learning style?
  3. Technical competency, skills, and knowledge
  4. On-screen reading speed and comprehension

It takes about 30 minutes from start to finish but you may log out and complete it later if necessary. To begin your READI:

  1. Go to Kaskaskia College READI
  2. Log in using the user name: kaskaskia
  3. Password: online
  4. Fill out the personal information and start the READI Assessment
  • If you need to stop at anytime during the assessment, click I need to Stop Icon . READI will provide you with a PIN for returning to the assesment. 

 

After logging out, you will receive an email from READI with a PIN number that allows you to log back in or review your results at a later time. You will receive a full color report immediately following the completion of all areas of READI. Your READI results will also include remedial tools to assist in strengthening your identified weaknesses.

Remember that your READI score will not prevent you from registering for online classes but it is a tool that will help you in becoming a better online student.
